What is a CommNet?

CommNet is the range of leased line services available from CComm IT Solutions.

In essence, this is a dedicated data line that connects your business or institutions to the internet or allows for fast inter-site connectivity. You will have exclusive access to the leased line, meaning a guaranteed level of quality of speed and data transfer can be assured, as it is uncontended.

What are the options?

There are four key sub-categories of the CommNet service depending upon the technology used to deliver the line:

  • Copper Ethernet: for leased lines using Ethernet technology over bonded copper pairs
  • CCOMM IT Premier: for leased lines delivered using SDH or PDH technology
  • CCOMM IT Ether: for leased lines delivered using Ethernet technology over fibre
  • CCOMM IT Frame: for leased lines delivered using Frame Relay technology

The CommNet service falls into two main categories:

Leased Lines

This provides you with a dedicated point to point connection for data, voice and Internet traffic.

Our Leased Line service is ideal if you require guaranteed availability and a reliable connection for mission-critical applications such as Voice over Internet Protocol, financial databases and real-time applications.

Leased Lines are also ideal for connecting multiple offices in different geographical locations. Our dedicated Leased Line service can link your offices together providing guaranteed availability, ensuring data can be transferred at all times between each location. You can also create a private network with this service.

We would recommend a Leased Line to users that exchange high volumes of traffic, as they provide a fixed bandwidth with guaranteed availability, fast data transfer and a secure connection.

Ethernet Lines

Ethernet service is a fast and reliable way to connect computers together in a Local Area Network (LAN).

Ethernet lines can also be used to provide connectivity for a Local Area Network to a Wide Area Network (WAN) or to the Internet.

Bandwidths availability ranges from 2Mbps to 10Gbps allowing you flexible bandwidth on-demand so that you can adapt quickly to periods of high traffic. Like Leased Lines, Ethernet lines can also be used for private networks.
