The Christie Cancer Research Hospital
The Christie is one of Europe's leading cancer centres treating over 40,000 patients each year. Based in Manchester the hospital not only caters for the 3.2 million population of Greater Manchester and Cheshire but also serves as a global facility for patients who are referred from other parts on the world. CCOMM IT were asked to provide a range of technological solutions which would improve patient entertainment facilities, visitor experience and hospital efficiency.
This included high-end technology solutions for:
- 21 x Private patient rooms with full multimedia functions
- 10 x Chemo treatment rooms and clinical trial areas
- 8 x Meeting rooms for staff
- 2 x Dayrooms and pharmacy waiting areas
- 1 x Shared area
Best In Class Private Patient Bedrooms
In each of the 21 private patient bedrooms the solution had to offer the finest bedside technology available, including a range of multimedia options, room environment control and a potential for return on investment at a later date.
Each of the systems installed provided:
- A 42" Mirror HD LCD flat panel screen, built in to the wall
- A 14.4" touch panel control system, tailored for medical environments
- iPod connection
- Hearing loop for multimedia functions
- Speakers in the main room and shower room
- Telephony services
